Very seldom will I tell someone or even myself to dress exactly like someone else. However this time I will go against the grain and tell you that it is okay to take a cue from a mannequin in your favorite men’s store.
Why?
The picture below is from a mannequin in EXPRESS for Men (you know it’s one of my favorite stores). I was walking past the store and this mannequin caught my eye. Dude was extremely stylish to be an inanimate object. The coupling of the light blue with the dark blue, red pants for a pop of color and the white sneakers was rather stylish!
It may seem cheesy to take a cue from a mannequin on how to dress, however it makes complete sense. Mannequins are there to give you style cues. Take a look at the picture below; you may hanot put those red pants with that jacket on your own but now that you see it all together it makes sense right?
Next time you go into your favorite men’s fashion store, take a moment to check out the displays. Even if you don’t buy it as pictured, you can get an idea for a new wardrobe piece that you may not have thought of on your own.
STN Tip: It’s okay to take cues from someone else. Be smart enough to recognize when good fashion is good fashion!
Xoxo
